The economic impact of the Port of Coeyman’s wind-power project on local businesses and townspeople will be the focus of an insightful RCS CBA forum on January 20 at 166 Coeymans Industrial Park Lane, Building C6 in Coeymans hosted by CTI, LLC. The breakfast takes place from 7:30 - 8 a.m. followed by the meeting from 8-9 a.m. The cost is $10 for member and $20 for non-members.
Josh Kowalski, The Vice President of Sales and Business Development, will give an overview of the endeavor and review the components of the project including how Carver Companies will contribute as the project landlord and loader of the 13-ton anode cages, the 132-ton external platform and the 25-ton, forty-feet high suspended internal platforms.
As a result of working with the world’s largest developer of offshore-wind, the Coeymans area will see 150-plus direct jobs created that will lead to local businesses seeing an influx of new customers. Construction work for the site is slated to begin the third quarter of this year, with the manufacturing of components to begin as soon as the 1st quarter 2023.
Kowalski will also review the prospect of future possibilities as a result of the project. There are multiple wind-power projects on the east coast and the capital district is being set up as a hub and success could build upon success with regard to making it a proven and reliable supply-chain region.
Carver Companies President of Sales and Business Development Stephen Kelly will join Kowalski along with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Senior Advisor for Offshore Wind Peter Lion who will also speak on the nuances and potential of wind-power.
Kowalski will also address additional truck traffic and the industrial waterfront.
