Building Application Process

You will need a building permit if you are planning to construct a building in the Town or Village. You will also need a building permit if you are changing the use of an existing space (for example, you are converting an office to a restaurant).

The first step to getting a building permit is to contact the Town or Village Building Departments and request a Building Permit Application. In addition to construction, the Town and Village require permits for signs, pools, fences and many other construction or rehabilitation activities so it’s best to call and ask before undertaking any project.

You will be asked to submit the following to get a building permit:

1. Building Permit Application: The application must be filled out in ink, signed and notarized,

if the applicant is not the property owner.

2. Plot Plans (surveys)

3. Building Plans

4. Fees
